§  August  20- IAHCE Workshop for District 4 & 5 – Decatur, IL  See Workshops page

§  August  23 –Saturday – 11:30 am NEW-OLD Board Meeting Luncheon – Extension Auditorium – See Workshops page

§   August 28 – Thursday – 6:00 -Officers Orientation Workshop –Salad/Dessert Potluck – Extension Auditorium -with meeting to follow.  All unit officers and interested leadership encouraged to attend: Bring 1 food item per 2 unit members attending.

§   Sept. 8- Reservations for Celebration Belle River Cruise due to Mary Ellen, 309 663-1689

§     Sept. 10 – Noon-1:00 p.m. - Brown Bag Seminar- “Creating a Healthy Financial Picture” – Extension Office, 402 N. Hershey – Taught by Consumer & Family Educator, U of I, Kathy Sweedler; NO CHARGE- PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED to receive the handouts;  CALL 663-8306.

§    Sept. 11 – Patriots Day – 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Interstate Center – HCE Booth during festivities/commemoration 

§    Sept. 15 – Read & Share – 6:30-8:00 p.m. – Ext. Auditorium –The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson to be discussed.

§     Sept. 22 – Local Leader Lesson- FOR OCTOBER LESSONS – “What’s new on the market” (new gadgets for the home)  given by Bed, Bath & Beyond; and Cammy Seguin, U or I Extension Specialist.         1-3:00 p.m. Open to public,

§     October Workshop –– “Quilt As You Go - I” Quilt Workshop Date, time and place TBA; call Carmen 309-370-3141 for info.

§      October 15 – Esposito Scholarship Applications are due for Spring, 09 Semester

§     October 16 – 6:00 p.m. – International Night – “BELGIUM”  Extension Auditorium – 402 N. Hershey Rd – Free & Open to public  Call Extension office to reserve a spot and program materials – 309 663-8306

§       October 22- Fall Trip/Cruise – “Fall Foliage-Big Band” Luncheon Cruise- to Moline, IL Enjoy 4 hour cruise along the banks of the “Mighty Mississippi” on the Celebration Belle River Cruise ship. You’ll see great scenery, have good food and listen to Celebration Band music. Details found on the Workshops page, under trips/tours section.

§       October 27- Local Leader Lesson-  1-3:00 p.m. Maximizing Kitchen Appliances- “Slow Cookers” –by Robin Bagwell for November lessons by unit members. Extension Auditorium, 402 N. Hershey, Bloomington.  Public welcome-
